I didn’t think I’d like this tool as much as I do after reading comparisons but in use, I can’t discern any difference between it and my other oscillating tools that have better recorded performance. The trigger can be locked into full speed with a small switch above it which can easily be reached with one hand while in use and can be locked on by pushing it in from either side or in other words, either direction, kind of like changing directions on a drill but it only has the function of locking the trigger on. The variable speed trigger is the most important feature to me but I also like the light and the quick blade changes. I own several other brands of this type of tool and even though this might not be the fastest and most powerful, I still grab it first because of the great ergonomics and the variable speed trigger control. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend any homeowner to get one of these to add to their arsenal of home repair tools. The XR Brushless motor provides PLENTY of power to tackle any of the jobs that I needed. The tool has 3 gears and a variable trigger so you will be able to find the right amount of power for you. If you are in the market for an oscillating tool this provides plenty of power as well as keeping you in the Dewalt ecosystem. It includes a convenient carrying bag, the sander attachment, an attachment box, and a wood and metal flush cutter. The tool kit supplies you with all the tools necessary to get started using the multitool. Some other applications this is perfect for is removing grout or caulk, cutting into drywall, and anywhere a sander is needed. Personally I've used it to cut some trim, sand my wall down when repairing the drywall, and cut splintered wood from a chair to name a few. This is a multi-tool that nay home-owner definitely needs! From sanding to cutting metal bits n' bobs, you can use these tools for a wide range of applications. I purchased this about 5 months ago, and since receiving the item I have used it about a half dozen times.
